Who We Are

Our Purpose

We exist to provide a place to worship God and teach the Word of God to the community of faith.  We are called to go out into the world to share the Gospel and witness by acts of service and “doing our faith” — Matthew 28: 16-20.

Our Beliefs

We believe in God, creator of all heaven and earth. We reaffirm that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and through his death and resurrection, we receive forgiveness for our sins and God’s all encompassing compassion and grace. We believe that we are one with God through the gift of the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Bible is God’s revealed Word. It guides and teaches us. We pray and study the Bible so that we may fulfill God’s plan for us. We will not falter in our faith. We will love and serve God with all our mind, our body, and our soul. Praise be to God!

Our History

Parkwood United Presbyterian Church traces its origins to 1806 when the Reformed Presbyterian (Covenanter) Church of Pine Creek was organized. The original Covenanter Church built in 1837 still remains as the site of the Depreciation Lands Museum in Hampton Township.

Parkwood was established when, at the suggestion of the Presbytery on April 15, 1962, the Allison Park Community Church and Wildwood Presbyterian Church merged to better serve the community. The present building was dedicated on October 20, 1966.
