Parkwood Church Vacation Bible School

June 24, 2019 — June 28, 2019

9:00 am — 12:00 pm

Vacation Bible School is a one-week ministry for three year olds (potty-trained) through children entering 4th grade. The kids will sing songs, create and play with gizmos, listen to interactive Bible stories, participate in awesome games, and eat tasty snacks. Kids will discover that God is good and will stay with them forever.

Kids going into 5th grade through 8th grade participate in VBS+. These students will spread God's love to local communities through hands-on mission work. VBS+ kids will take a van offsite on Tuesday through Friday to visit local organizations in need.

Payment

Parents will pay for their children on the first day of VBS.  (Cash or check to "Parkwood Church"). You may mail a check to Parkwood Church ahead of time if you prefer.  Include a note telling us your child's name.  Please mail the check by June 17th.

4289 Mt. Royal Blvd.  Allison Park, PA, 15101

Themed Days

To add even more fun to our week, we will have themed days that your child can participate in if he or she would like:

Tuesday - Crazy Sock Day • Wednesday - Crazy Hair Day • Thursday - Tie Dye/Camo Day • Friday - Hat Day

Outreach Opportunity

This summer, Roar Vacation Bible Schools across America will donate funds to "Operation Kid to Kid." Donations will help women and children in communities throughout the African country of Zambia.  We will discuss this charity with the children throughout our week of VBS and invite the children to donate to the cause.

Games

We plan on playing water games on warm days.  If you're heading anywhere after VBS, you can bring a change of dry clothes for your possibly wet kids.  (We will not have kids change clothes during VBS, but you can use our restrooms after you have picked up your child.)

Groups

Preschool children will be grouped together and will participate in age-appropriate activities.  Children kindergarten through grade 4 will be grouped based on the number of registrants.

Allergies

We will provide a list of each day's snack if you have allergy concerns.  Feel free to pack your child his or her own snack if you would like.  We'll also provide grapes each day as a snack alternative.

Picnic

We will have a family picnic on the last day of VBS.  You can join us for hot dogs after you pick up your child on June 28th.  We will distribute RSVP and donation sign-ups for the picnic throughout the week of VBS.

Pictures

We will take pictures of the children throughout the week.  We will give each child a printed picture on the last day of VBS, and we will post pictures on our website so you can see all of the fun that the kids had throughout the week.  If you prefer not to have your child photographed, please let Erin Wharton (VBS director) know when you drop off your child on the first day.
