Registration for VBS

Parkwood Church Vacation Bible School

June 29, 2020 — July 2, 2020

9:00 am — 12:00 pm

Vacation Bible School will run for FOUR days this year. We will NOT have VBS on Friday, June 3rd.

Vacation Bible School is a four-day ministry for three year olds (potty-trained) through children entering 4th grade. The kids will sing songs, create and play with gizmos, listen to interactive Bible stories, participate in awesome games, and eat tasty snacks. Kids will discover how Jesus' power pulls us through life's ups and downs.

Kids going into 5th grade through 8th grade participate in VBS+. These students will spread God's love to local communities through hands-on mission work. VBS+ kids will take a van off-site each day. They will visit local organizations in need and experience a fun field trip.

Parents will pay for their children on the first day of VBS.  (Cash or check to "Parkwood Church"). You may mail a check to Parkwood Church ahead of time if you prefer.  Include a note telling us your child's name.  Please mail the check by June 19th.

Themed Days

To add even more fun to our week, we will have themed days that your child can participate in if he or she would like:

Tuesday - Crazy Sock Day • Wednesday - Crazy Hair Day • Thursday - Hat Day

Outreach Opportunity

This year, Rocky Railway Vacation Bible Schools across America will donate funds to "Operation Kid to Kid." Donations will help provide an Ecuadorian family with alpacas that will warm their bodies, nourish their crops, and improve their financial outlook. We'll discuss this charity with the children and invite them to donate small amounts of money throughout the week.

We may play water games on warm days.  If you're heading anywhere after VBS, you can bring a change of dry clothes for your possibly wet kids.  (We will not have kids change clothes during VBS, but you can use our restrooms after you have picked up your child.)

Preschool children will be grouped together and will participate in age-appropriate activities.  Children kindergarten through grade 4 will be grouped based on the number of registrants.

We will provide a list of each day's snack if you have allergy concerns.  Feel free to pack your child his or her own snack if you would like.  We'll also provide grapes each day as a snack alternative.

We will have a family picnic on the last day of VBS.  You can join us for hot dogs after you pick up your child on July 2nd.  We will distribute RSVP and donation sign-ups for the picnic throughout the week of VBS.

We will take pictures of the children throughout the week.  We will give each child a printed picture on the last day of VBS, and we will post pictures on our website so you can see all of the fun that the kids had throughout the week.  If you prefer not to have your child photographed, please let Erin Wharton (VBS director) know when you drop off your child on the first day.
