Men's Ministry

"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another."  Proverbs 27:17

Men's Study Group

The Men's Study Group is a newer ministry at Parkwood Church. The group meets on Saturday mornings from 8AM - 9:30AM in the church lounge, and breakfast and beverages are always provided.

The group is made up of men of all ages in all stages of their faith journeys. We meet to share a time of fellowship and to discuss our weekly readings from books selected by the group memebers. The discussions are very informal, and we let the dialogue go wherever it takes us.

We are currently reading: “Speeches that Changed the World” , with an introduction by Simon Sebag Montefiore, books are available, see Rev. Jeff or come to the office if you would like to purchase one. All men of the church are invited to attend, ask friends to join you. Breakfast is always served!

Some of our previous reads were:

Quiet Strength by Tony Dungy

3:16 The Numbers of Hope by Max Lucado

The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren

The Last Lecture  by Randy Pausch

The Shack by William P. Young

Three Cups of Tea: One Man’s Mission to Promote Peace…One School At A Time

by Greg Mortenson.

For more information about our Men's Study Group please contact Rev. Jeff or Mike Rossi.

The Back Pew

The Back Pew is a group of men with some free weekday time (retired or not),  who meet for breakfast at Kings in Richland Township at 9:00 AM on the first Thursday of each month.

The group meets to talk about the important issues of the day, and to solve world problems (leaving the details to others) while raising a little money to support incidental needs at Parkwood.

The group also takes responsibility for a variety of maintenance tasks around the church, including: mowing the church lawn, and serving as gofers and heavy lifters for the sanctuary decorations for the changing seasons of the church.
